What a perfect opportunity we have to show our love and appreciation for our spouses on this special day. It’s the one time of the year I am guaranteed flowers and a real sloppy card. Of course, we should be showing our appreciation on a more regular basis, but it’s always good to have a ‘set aside’ day to do so.
It’s also a good time for folks who are too timid to come out in the open with their feelings for someone. They can send a card and declare their undying love for them, anonymously!
They can write poetry and love letters and let their creative juices flow!
Even the postman gets his messages on the envelopes.

Roses are red, Violets are blue,
And on and on..........
You will see by the above that I am still on ‘snail mail’ and at least 40 years behind the times, but we had so much fun swapping verses with our friends and keeping up to date with latest prose, some of which was not very complementary!
Today, the messages are sent by e mail or Facebook. There is no mystery now about who our Valentine is. Or perhaps you received a dozen red roses from a mystery man, or a big card addressed to ‘the hunk’!!
Dream on, it could have been your granny!!
Life is so daily and love is a big part of enjoying life to the full. Show your love by doing random acts of kindness. You don’t have to wait till the 14th of February!
